After years of planning & months of testing, Dish TV Sri Lanka have officially commenced operations in Sri Lanka. The website reported earlier www.dishtv.lk is now operational & the customer care hotline is (011) 5 111 222.
However the channel list leaves much to be desired with mainly Indian channels & not many Tamil or popular Hindi channels either. It's surprising that even parent company operated Zee Channels have not been included in the lineup. The package costs Rs 317 inclusive of taxes which is nothing compared to the rentals of other local providers but in terms of channel lineup (http://dishtv.lk/pack.html) too Dish TV offers nothing except for the few local channels provided.
The launch offerings have fallen well short of expectations & to survive in the market the offering should be made more attractive. With this lineup they will not be able to lure local Dish TV India subscribers to shift either.
Hopefully more channels will arrive soon & better sooner than later.
Exactly..dialog per day TV also give more than this .dish TV India has more than 40 HD Channels.good zee channel ..up to now dish TV Lanka ..far behind to dialog PEO TV LBN..I believe they will offer other good packages
ReplyDeletePEO TV 590 rental pack is the best in the island. I hoped dish TV would do something than this. Hope so in the future.

ReplyDeletewhy they all want to add more channels !. they already have more than 300 channels and at least two hundred thousand customers !
ReplyDeleteIn India they have more than 300 channels. This is about Sri Lanka.

ReplyDeleteJust seen their website, the national channels are at very high numbers (Rupavahini is on channel 2506, ITN on channel 2517, Eye/Nethra on 2572, Swarnavahini on 2516, and so on) probably because they couldn't afford a separate channel numbering for the country. Also most of the channels are Indian, and this provider only appeals to those who were used to illegally install Indian providers.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, if you want Asian feeds you should stay on Dialog or PEO TV.
Greetings from Portugal.
any updates?
ReplyDeleteis it ture that Dish tv sri lanka having truble with getting approval by TRC ,I ve found that that once thay tried to postpone tha lanuch
ReplyDeleteIt is better if you can add sports channels to this line up. They can add even DD Sports. Because local channels are boring now.Anyway wish for a Bright Future for New Channel Line up away from common Indian channels.
ReplyDeleteGood news
